Great Britain Fastpitch League (GBFL)

Open Fastpitch League
Season started 01/01/2020

The Great Britain Fastpitch League, which has been around in one form or another since the 1980s, will return in 2019 with Women’s and Men’s Divisions, a four-team Women’s Division and a three-team Men’s Division.

Although the GBFL is an adult league, many young players from the age of 14 upwards take part.

The GBFL is fun, friendly, fast-paced and welcoming, and though you probably need to have played softball before to take part, you don’t have to have played fastpitch.  The differences with slowpitch are less than you might think, and players who have previously only played slowpitch will get plenty of help and coaching along the way.

In 2019 each division will play on six days across the season – five of them between late April and early June and the final date in October.  All GBFL days in 2019 will be played at Farnham Park, but some days may be played in Milton Keynes.

The dates  are:

·         Saturday 27 April

·         Saturday 4 May

·         Saturday 11 May

·         Saturday 25 May

·         Saturday 1 June

·   ·     Saturday 12 October

These dates are set so that GBFL days don’t conflict with any major slowpitch tournaments or with baseball league games, and that’s why there are a number of slowpitch and baseball players in the GBFL!

Individual players can register for the 2019 season here, both before and during the season:  If you’re a new player not rostered to one of the existing GBFL teams, we’ll assign you to a suitable team.

And if you’d like to enter a whole new team in the league, you’ll be welcome to do that too, and the league will provide all the support you need.  Contact us on:
