Publishers' Softball League (London)

Co-Ed Slowpitch League
Season started 08/01/2018

The Publishers’ Softball League is one of the oldest continuously running slowpitch leagues in England, and in 2015, the league celebrated its 30th anniversary.

The Publishers’ League is open to any team with a link to the publishing industry, and we have had newspapers, magazines, comics, bookshops, literary agents, book charities, music publishers, online publishers and book publishers in our league over the years.  The league is not just for companies and individuals with a link to the industry, however, and as a recreational league we are open to new players.

The PSL caters to all levels of play, from 20-year softball veterans to absolute rookies, but the emphasis is on recreational play and on fun.  We follow ASA rules, with a few small exceptions.

Membership has been as high as 30 teams but currently stands at 13.  A typical schedule is 12 matches, played from early May to late August.  Matches are generally played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Primrose Hill, with the Tuesday Division and the Wednesday Division competing in the PSL World Series following the regular season.  The PSL also hosts a tournament in Old Deer Park in Richmond on the first Saturday of September every year.
