Great Britain Fastpitch LeagueCo-Ed Fastpitch League
Season started 01/01/2017
Early-bird registration for the 2017 Great Britain Fastpitch League season is open and players who played before or want to play this year are encouraged to register as soon as possible so that teams can be selected in preparation for Opening Day.
Registration and payment will assure your place in one of the most challenging and fun leagues in the UK.
Fastpitch softball is the main international competition format of the sport. Women's fastpitch was an Olympic medal sport from 1996-2008 and will be reinstated in the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
The domestic fastpitch competition is growing in the UK, and its main outlet is the Great Britain Fastpitch League (GBFL), which started in 2010 and is looking forward to another exciting season in 2017.
In the past, the GBFL had men and women in mixed teams but last year played with separate Women’s and Men’s Leagues at Farnham Park (Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Royal, SL2 3BP.) This innovation was well received and will be repeated in 201,7 with games being played on six Saturdays: April 22, April 29, May 6, May 20, May 27 and June 3.
New players from 14 upwards are always welcome in the GBFL at any point during the season and no prior fastpitch experience is necessary. Fastpitch softball is a more challenging form of the game than slowpitch, but it's great fun to play and the atmosphere in the GBFL is welcoming and inclusive.
