Leeds Softball AssociationCo-Ed Slowpitch League
Season started 01/01/2017
The Leeds Softball Association is a co-ed slowpitch league that was set up in 1992 as a predominantly corporate league for engineering and legal teams. Today, it consists of teams of friends who get together to play the sport and enjoy the banter and camaraderie it brings. #
The league provides softball to more than 300 men and women across Yorkshire, and we’re always looking for new teams and new players to join us. We also run various socials throughout the year, including our annual end-of-season awards party.
Currently, we run league nights on Wednesdays, with practices on Tuesdays and some weekends (weather permitting!).
League games and practices are held at Adel Bedquilts (Adel Lane, LS16 8BX) in North Leeds, with games usually lasting between 90 minutes and two hours. We usually retire to the nearest watering hole for drinks, food and socialising after fixtures.
In addition to our standard league schedule, we also run our annual Cup competition, a unique format that sees each player drawn into a random team which participates in a round-robin series before the final knockout stages. This helps brings new and old players together and offers a fresh and fun alternative to playing with your usual teammates.
We also regularly send several Comp and Rec teams to tournaments across the country, with our teams often bringing home silverware.
Looking to get fit, meet new friends for life and be part of an epic sporting community?
New players are always welcome to attend our open training sessions, run by qualified and friendly player-coaches. You’ll be introduced to the basics of softball in an informal, relaxed and fun environment.
Just come down to give it a try, and if you want to continue we can find you a team for the season and onwards.
All you need is jogging wear, and preferably rubber-studded (not metal) cleats for our outdoor sessions. There may be a small deposit to pay for use of a softball glove, but everything else is provided.
We also run indoor beginner sessions from January until April – please email for more information.
